Grade 3/4 ~ Weaving

For the past few weeks, the Grade 3/4 classes have been weaving away to make these gorgeous wall hangings - all part of our Threads and Textiles unit of work this term.

We began by stringing our loom (warp) and then practised weaving with a variety of textured and plain wool and string, chanting "over and under" while we created our weft!

Some students have finished their weaving already and have added a branch, beads and pom-poms to complete their wall hangings. I will post more photos next week as students finish their weaving, but in the meantime, have a look at these beauties!

Grade 5/6 ~ Even more Steampunk!!!

Here are some more amazing pieces created by our 5/6 students in the Steampunk genre. Jewellery pieces were very popular, but sculptures were also a big hit. I just loved seeing all their ideas come to fruition. Well done guys :)
