Grade 1 ~ Celebrating Brazil and Romero Britto

We've been getting in to the Rio Olympics spirit and each grade has been learning about the Brazilian pop-artist Romero Britto. Although he now lives in Miami, he was born in Brazil and taught himself to paint using scraps of paper or cardboard.

The students loved looking at his paintings and sculptures and were impressed by his use of bold black lines, bright colours and patterns. You may have noticed some amazing Britto-inspired artwork up on display on the Art Room windows - these were completed by our very talented Foundation students using black markers, textas and coloured pencils.

Here are some of the artworks created by our Grade 1 students - all inspired by Romero Britto's bold use of line, colour and pattern. Fantastic!
